Rockstar Announces Red Dead Redemption
Dusty western to return to consoles in fall of this year.
Rockstar Games announced today that a sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver will be coming this fall, titled Red Dead Redemption. The game is being developed by Rockstar San Diego, known from the Midnight Club games as well as the original Red Dead. This sequel is slated for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and focuses on the early 20th century and the Industrial Age. It uses Rockstar's own game engine and features the open-world the developer is known for, complete with "distractions" as you traverse the landscape. We can only assume that means your cell phone will ring with invitations to go bowling.
"The team at San Diego have massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption," said Rockstar's Sam Houser. "We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be." Check out a few of the first screens and let us know if you're excited to revisit the old west.
